Alloy 48 is a 48% nickel-iron alloy that is used where controlled expansion metals are needed. Alloy 48 also has magnetic shielding capabilities.
Alloy 48 is good for glass-to-metal seals, hermetic seals, relay switches, transformers, and cathode ray tubes.
