Niobium C-103 Properties

Niobium C-103 alloy consists of niobium, with the addition of hafnium, titanium, and additional alloying elements created within a precise manufacturing process. It combines the benefits of being a relatively lightweight with high strength at extreme temperatures and resisting high-frequency vibrations at cryogenic temperatures. Its stability is especially useful in space vehicles where temperature exposure can range to both ends of the scale from red hot to extreme cold.

C-103 is recognised as a very workable metal and can be made into a variety of shapes and configurations due to its relatively high formability and being readily weldable using argon tungsten arc welding and electron-beam fusion welding.
