Nickel 270 (N02270)
Nickel 270 is an alloy of a high-purity grade of nickel, made by powder metallurgy and consists of 99.95% nickel in addition to traces of minor elements. The final 1% is usually made up of iron, silver, manganese, copper, carbon and sulfur in small quantities.

Nickel 270 can be welded with conventional techniques. Heat treat at 816°C (1500°F). Air cool. Hot work at 704 to 1038°C (1300 to 1900°F).
Nickel 270 Applications
Nickel 270 can be used in resistance thermometers as the nickel can tolerate high strength that these thermometers then release.
Nickel 270 also has superior elevated temperature properties and high tensile strength. It is used in hydrogen thyratrons components (gas-filled electron tubes), resistance thermometers, fluorescent light components and electronic cathodes/anodes.
