Rhenium
This silvery-white metal is one of the densest elements available. It also has one of the highest melting and boiling points, exceeded only by Tungsten and Carbon. It resists alkalis and some acids.

When annealed, Rhenium is very ductile.
Applications
Rhenium is used in the following applications:
- Jet engines
- Platinum-rhenium catalysts for high-octane gasoline
- Mass spectrometers
- Ion gauges
- Photoflash lamps for photography
